Bronze Scrolls

There are two types of bronze scrolls frequently used in memorial work – (final) date scrolls, and eternal prayer scrolls. Bronze name and date scrolls are frequently used on mausoleum and columbarium walls, as well.

Date scrolls are frequently added to bronze companion markers when one person is still living and their final date is to be added at the time of future interment. They are designed to match the first scroll, which is cast directly onto the marker.

Eternal prayer scrolls (e.p.s) are separate items from the marker, installed above, or below the primary marker. They may be mounted directly to a concrete foundation, or first attached to a granite base. Most frequently, they are inscribed with either a phrase, or the 5 Hebrew letters:ת׳נ׳צ׳ב׳ה׳, the abbreviation for “May his/her soul be bound up in the bonds of eternal life.”
